I was born into a mixed-heritage family in the former Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR). At the age of five, my family moved to Central Asia, where we lived within a close-knit Korean community. My grandparents were respected elders and community leaders, and this environment shaped my values, identity, and lasting positive memories of unity and mutual support.
My Korean bloodline traces back to a historical lineage connected to both royalty and political leadership, with roots in the Russian Far East and Sakhalin. Growing up within a strong Korean community instilled in me a deep respect for heritage, responsibility, and collective wellbeing.
Later, my family relocated to the United Kingdom, where we became British citizens. I married, had two children, and devoted many years to family life. After my separation, I raised my children independently, balancing personal responsibility with professional development.
Professionally, I have worked alongside solicitors and legal professionals, and I have experience in media and creative industries, including film and television. I have also previously been engaged in civic and political activities in the UK, gaining valuable insight into public service, governance, and community representation.
In my late 50s, I chose to begin a new chapter in life. With renewed purpose, I decided to dedicate my time and experience to establishing the United Korean Diaspora Association (UKDA) — as an act of honour and respect toward my Korean ancestors, and as a reflection of my long-held passion to support, connect, and unite the Korean diaspora with the motherland, Korea.
저는 혼혈 가정에서 태어나, 과거 **러시아 소비에트 연방 사회주의 공화국(RSFSR)**에서 유년 시절을 보냈습니다. 다섯 살 무렵 가족과 함께 중앙아시아로 이주하였고, 그곳에서 한인 공동체 안에서 성장했습니다. 저의 조부모님은 공동체의 어른이자 지도자였으며, 서로를 존중하고 돌보는 공동체 안에서의 경험은 제 가치관과 정체성 형성에 깊은 영향을 주었습니다.
저의 한국 혈통은 왕실과 정치적 지도층과 연결된 역사적 계보를 지니고 있으며, 러시아 극동 지역과 사할린에 그 뿌리를 두고 있습니다. 이러한 배경은 저에게 전통, 책임, 그리고 공동체적 연대의 중요성을 일깨워 주었습니다.
이후 가족은 영국으로 이주하여 영국 시민권을 취득하였고, 저는 결혼하여 두 자녀를 두게 되었습니다. 이후 개인적인 사정으로 분리 생활을 하게 되었으며, 자녀들을 홀로 양육하며 가정과 사회적 책임을 함께 감당해 왔습니다.
전문적인 경력으로는 변호사 및 법률 전문가들과의 협업 경험이 있으며, 영화와 텔레비전 등 미디어 및 창작 산업 분야에서도 활동해 왔습니다. 또한 과거에는 영국 내에서 시민·사회 활동에 참여하며 공공 영역과 사회 구조에 대한 이해를 넓혔습니다.
50대 후반에 이르러, 저는 인생의 새로운 장을 열기로 결심하였습니다. 그 결과, 저의 시간과 경험을 영국 한인 디아스포라 협회(UKDA) 설립에 헌신하게 되었습니다. 이는 저의 한국인 조상에 대한 존경과 감사의 표현이자, 전 세계 한인 디아스포라와 모국 대한민국을 잇고자 하는 오랜 열정의 실천입니다.
